Cristie Boone
Principal
Dr. Cristie Boone has 16 years of experience in her field and received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of California in Santa Cruz in 2012. She is a co-owner of Albion, and has worked with the team since 2013. She specializes in ichthyozooarchaeology, identifying and analyzing fish assemblages from California precolonial and colonial archaeological sites. Her main interests are the interactive relationships between people and the marine environment, especially in regards to nutrition and resource reliability. For her dissertation, she looked at several thousand years of fish exploitation in the Monterey Bay Area of California. Beyond her exposure to California archaeology, she also has international survey and excavation experience on projects in Canada, Russia, Italy, and France.
