Sandra Menzel
Senior Wildlife Biologist
Sandra Menzel joined Albion’s team in 2008, and received her MS in Environmental Studies at San Jose State University in 2014. She is a Senior Wildlife Biologist and specializes on projects requiring protection of special-status wildlife species. She conducts biotic assessments and provides mitigation services, including pre-construction surveys, wildlife avoidance measures, and mitigation compliance monitoring. Sandra is specialized in ornithology and has over 10 years of experience in her field. She is involved in all aspects of burrowing owl conservation, and has researched the effectiveness of artificial burrowing owl burrows as a management tool. She has an aptitude for research and technical writing and has authored numerous comprehensive reports and management plans. Creating informative maps using ArcGIS is an integral part of her reporting.
